PKU Delegation for “Understanding the Neighbors on Borders” Program Visited Yunnan Province for Field Research

 

 

From April 22 to 25, 2021, PKU Delegation for “Understanding the Neighbors on Borders” Program Visited Kunming and Tengchong in Yunnan Province for field research on the China-Myanmar border area under the influence of Covid-19 and the political changes in Myanmar.

 

Dr. Wu Bingbing, State of Qatar Chair Professor in Middle Eastern Studies at Peking University, and three graduate students from the Department of Arabic Language and Culture made the visit with the delegation.

On April 22 and 23, the delegation visited School of South Asian and Southeast Asian Languages ​​and Cultures at Yunnan Minzu University, School of Foreign Languages ​​at Yunnan University, and Institute of International Relations at Yunnan University in Kunming, having in-depth and detailed discussions about the disciplinary development of foreign languages ​​and area studies, academic exchanges and cooperation.

On April 23 morning and 24, the delegation visited the Foreign Affairs Office of Yunnan Province in Kunming and the Foreign Affairs Office of Tengchong city, as well as Tengchong Houqiao Port and border checkpoint for field research.
