On May 7, 2019, Dr. Reza Solat, Scholar from International Contemporary Abrar Institute in Tehran and expert on Middle Eastern issues, who is visiting China at the invitation of the State of Qatar Chair in Middle Eastern Studies at Peking University (QCMES-PKU), paid a visit to Peking University, and held a meeting with Prof. FU Zhiming, Deputy Dean, School of Foreign Languages，as well as delivering a lecture to the post-graduate students and doctoral candidates from School of Foreign Languages.Dr. WU Bingbing, Deputy Director of Department of Arabic Language and Culture, SFL-PKU, Chair Professor of QCMES-PKU attended the activities.

During the meeting, the two side expressed mutual interest in enhancing the cooperation between two institutions. During the lecture, Dr. Solat introduced his views on the current situation in Iran and the Middle East then answered questions raised by the students.
