Peking University “Into Middle East” Delegation visited Chinese Embassy in Turkey on  August 26. Dr. Fu Zhiming (Deputy Dean, School of Foreign Languages, Peking University; The Sultan Qaboos Chair Professor in Arabic Studies; Director of Middle East Studies Center) was among the delegates. Chinese Ambassador to Turkey Deng Li and Cultural Counsellor Shi Ruilin met the delegation at the embassy. 

Ambassador Deng introduced the current situation of the country to the delegation thoroughly, combining the heated issues in the region. He also pointed out the importance of building academic theory based on research and encouraged faculties of Peking University to actively initiate and participate in academic research and communication programs. 

The Ambassador then listened to the introduction of the delegation and delegates’ feeling during the program. The delegates and the Ambassador also exchanged ideas about regional affairs in the Middle East.
