Peking University “Into Middle East” Delegation visited Center for Strategic Research (SAM) of Turkish Foreign Ministry on August 27, 2019. Dr. Fu Zhiming(Deputy Dean, School of Foreign Languages, Peking University; The Sultan Qaboos Chair Professor in Arabic Studies; Director of Middle East Studies Center)was among the delegates. Professor Ufuk Ulutas, Chairman of SAM met the delegation at the Ministry. 

Charted by law, Center for Strategic Research (SAM) is a national think tank established in Turkey in 1995, aiming at providing scientific and effective assessment around relevant issues for diplomatic policy-makers of the country. 

During the meeting, Professor Ulutas introduced the overall Middle East situation, and later answered questions from the delegates concerning the Syrian refugees in Turkey, the Kurds and Turkey-Russia relationship.
