On December 27, 2019, Seminar on "Review and Prospect of Situation in the Middle East 2019" was held in Peking University by the State of Qatar Chair in Middle Eastern Studies at Peking University (QCMES-PKU).

Amb. Wu Sike, Former China's Special Envoy on the Middle East Issues, Former Chinese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Egypt, Amb. Wang Shijie, Former China's Special Envoy on the Middle East Issues, Former Chinese Ambassador to Bahrain, Jordan and Iran, Amb. An Huihou, Former Chinese Ambassador to Algeria, Tunis and Lebanon, Amb. Liu Baolai, Former Chinese Ambassador to UAE and Jordan, Amb. Yao Kuangyi, Former Chinese Ambassador to Turkey, Amb. Yue Xiaoyong, Former Chinese Ambassador to Qatar, Jordan and Iraland, attended the Seminar and had an in-depth discussion on the situation in the Middle East.

Prof. Fu Zhiming, Deputy Dean of School of Foreign Languages at Peking University, Prof. Lin Fengming, Director of Department of Arabic Language and Culture, SFL-PKU, and Dr. Wu Bingbing, Chair Professor of QCMES-PKU also attended the Seminar.
