Delegation of PKU Arabic Department visit Ambassador Residence of the State of Qatar in Beijing

Students and teachers from Department of Arabic Language and Culture, School of Foreign Languages, Peking University visited Ambassador Residence of the State of Qatar at the invitation of Embassy of the State of Qatar on December 3, 2020. Led by Wu Bingbing, State of Qatar Chair Professor in Middle Eastern Studies at PKU, Deputy Director of Arabic Department, the delegation was mainly composed of freshmen admitted by the Department.
Ambassador Al-Dehaimi held a talk with PKU delegates.
H.E. Mr. Mohamed A. Al-Dehaimi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar, held a talk with PKU delegations. He encouraged the students to arduously practice the Arabic language in their daily work, and introduced Chinese staff who now work in the Embassy to share their experience on how to master Arabic.

After the talk, the delegation was invited by the Ambassador for dinner, where they tasted delicacies of Arabic style and learned about Qatar's universities. The Ambassador patiently answered the questions of the youth and extended great wishes to them, hoping that they would acquire opportunities to study in Qatar in the future.
PKU students experienced Arabic ways of life in a tent
Later in an Arabic tent set in the center of the garden, the PKU delegation gained fantastic experience of traditional Arabic lifestyle, which were originated in the desert of middle east. Mr. Al-Dehaimi introduced the preparations Qatar made for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, endowed presents and took group photos with the PKU delegation.
Proposed by both H.E. Mr. Al-Dehaimi and Professor Wu Bingbing, this visit aimed at providing effective platform and opportunities for Chinese students of Arabic major, strengthening their belief in delving into Arabic culture so that they can act as bridges that links China and Qatar in the future.
