Somali Ambassador Awale Ali Kullane visits Peking University

 

 

On June 15, H.E. Awale Ali kullane, Ambassador of Federal Republic of Somalia to China, visited Peking University. Professor Wang Bo, Vice President of Peking University, met with the delegation. Wang Bo extended warm welcome to Kullane for his visit to PKU. Wang Bo said Peking University is a witness and creator of China’s modern history, with excellent academic tradition and unique advantages in comprehensive disciplines. Faculty of Arabic Language of Peking University established the earliest Arabic major in China. Peking University welcomes Somali scholars and students to visit and hopes that through Department of Arabic Language and Culture, further exchanges with Somali universities can be promoted in the future.

Kullane expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and noted the profound history and culture of Peking University. He said, since the performance of duties, he has been committed to promoting bilateral cooperation in various fields. He and his embassy are willing to build the bridge of communication and open the door of bilateral exchanges.

After the meeting, Kullane visited the School of Foreign Languages of Peking University and delivered a speech entitled "China and Somalia relationship" for teachers and students from Department of Arabic Language and Culture.
