On December 1st 2021, H.E. Shorsh Said, Ambassador of The Republic of Iraq to China visited Peking University. Prof. Hao Ping, President of Peking University, met with the delegation in Central Hall of Lake House, where  two sides exchanged views on deepening cooperation in higer education, academic research, and cultural exchanges between Iraqi universities at Peking University.

Also presented at the meeting were Mr. Bahir Chlaihawi, First Secretary at Iraqi Embassy in Beijing, Mr. Mohammed Naji, Second Secretary at Iraqi Embassy in Beijing, Prof. Li Shujing, Secretary of CPC Committee of School of Foreign Languages, PKU, Prof. Fu Zhiming, Deputy Dean of SFL-PKU, Dr. Wu Bingbing, Director of Department of Arabic Language and Cultures, SFL-PKU, Chair Professor of State of Qatar Chair in Middle Eastern Studies at PKU, Dr. Zheng Ruqing, Deputy Director of Office of International Relations, Dr. Wamg Suolao, Deputy Director of Institute of Area Studies at PKU.

After the meeting, Ambassador Said and his colleagues visited second-year undergraduates from Department of Arabic Language and Cultures in the classroom and shared his experience in language learning with the students.

Afterwards, Ambassador Said took a visit on PKU campus and held talk with teachers from Department of Arabic Language and Cultures, and discussed with Prof. Fu Zhiming and Dr. Wu Bingbing means to further enhance exchanges and cooperation between the Embassy and PKU.
